CRAP DETECT UNTRUTHFUL NEWS

One article on you consider to be very goodNew York Times
One article you consider to be only partially trustworthyYahoo Finance
One article you consider to be probably untrustworthyBabylon Bee

All of these articles are from some type of news website. The first one that I thought was accurate and considered to be good was in the New York Times website, the second one that was partially trustworthy was from Yahoo Finance, and the last one which is untrustworthy: The Babylon Bee.
All three were well written and looked like actual news companies. The webpages all looked similar, they had a title, pictures, advertisements, and options to easily share them.
Some differences between them were the Babylon Bee didn't have an author, or links in the article to back it up, it also seemed far fetched. I had to do additional research to find out if it was true or not and it's not true. Both Yahoo Finance and the New York Times article had authors and links. The reason the Yahoo Finance article is only partially true is because they claimed  "Ford maintained that the layoffs were part of an ongoing reorganization plan and were not the product of losses resulting from new tariffs", that's false. Ford's CEO said that the company had lost $1 billion due to new tariffs on imported steel and aluminum, and the company is planning to lay off employees. The New York Times article had facts to back it up and the author Jim Tankersley has been covering politics and economics in Washington for over a decade.

What conclusions are you coming to about untruthful news?

  1. Your statement "The reason the Yahoo Finance article is only partially true is because they claimed "Ford maintained that the layoffs were part of an ongoing reorganization plan and were not the product of losses resulting from new tariffs", that's false. Ford's CEO said that the company had lost $1 billion due to new tariffs on imported steel and aluminum, and the company is planning to lay off employees." showed great accuracy. You even had a fact to back up your claim.

  3. Your statement showed clarity when you said, "The New York Times article had facts to back it up and the author Jim Tankersley has been covering politics and economics in Washington for over a decade."
