Preparing Your Content for Facebook Sharing
I understand "shaping Your content for Facebook" to mean selecting content that you want to share with your friends and family.
In other words, Facebook is a more personal social media site, what you share really reflects you. If you want to get people attention you should share things with catchy titles/pictures that will create a creativity gap.
An example of shaping your content for Facebook would be sharing a post with a caption that evokes more questions or interesting pictures/videos. I like watching food challenge videos and they look interesting so I usually watch it until the end.
Preparing Your Content for Twitter Sharing
I understand "shaping Your content for Twitter" to mean compacting a lot of info into a short statement.
In other words, twitter has a 280 character limit so what you share has to be short and to the point. Twitter users look for headline news and quotes. You need to make sure your tweets are brief but interesting if you want those retweets.
An example of shaping your content for Twitter would be tweeting something that relevant to what's happening now like a popular news story or event. One of the most retweeted and liked tweet of 2017 was Ariana Grande's tweet after a suicide bomber killed nearly two dozen people and left even more injured at one of her concerts.
Preparing Your Content for Pinterest Sharing
I understand "shaping Your content for Pinterest" to mean sharing quality images, DIY's projects, and food/drink recipes that you like.
In other words, Pinterest users look for inspiration or easy to follow pictures to help them. Sharing quality photos can help you gain followers. When things are easy people are more likely to "pin" it to their boards.
An example of shaping Your content for Pinterest would be sharing an easy DIY project or recipe with nice pictures and easy instructions to follow.
Preparing Your Content for Instagram Sharing
I understand "shaping Your content for Instagram" to mean taking and sharing aesthetically pleasing photos that represent you.
In other words, nice pictures that match a theme, have good composition, are clear and share content will help you build a brand. I know a lot of popular account follow a theme and are pretty consistent.
An example of shaping your content for Instagram would be @taramilktea, shes has a popular travel/lifestyle account. All of her pictures are aesthetically pleasing, follow a theme, and she's constantly posting new content. She created a brand for herself through the pictures she shares.
The purpose of the assignment is to teach us how to share content on different social media networks.
The key question at the heart of the assignment is "which social networking site will help you best share the content that you want to share?"

I share these thoughts as well, as I think Facebook is more of a day-to-day telling of your life.
