Paragraph 1: It talks about how there are thousands of free quality images online that anyone can use.We can use them for whatever we want and it legal. The main point of this paragraph is to explain why we should just copyright free images. In other words we won't get in trouble for using them because their for the public. For example, in this assignment we had to look for an image that was copyright free. Paragraph 2: This paragraph talks about how copyright laws are personal and are usually only enforced if the owner does it. It's not fair and people don't tend to take copyright laws seriously. It's better to just use public domain images. The main point of this paragraph is to tell us that copyright laws are not fair. In other words, it's up to the owner to enforce it. For example, if a big company used a picture that was copyrighted then most likely the owner would enforce it. If one of us used the same image the owner probably wouldn't do an...

INTELLECTUAL STANDARDS PART 2

Depth I understand "depth" to mean a statement, question, or idea that shows knowledge or insight. In other words, when we are able to understand all the complexities of a topic. The more depth you have the easier it will be understand or convey your message. An example of someone exhibiting depth with social media would be making a blog about something you're passionate about. I've seen some travel blogs that go into depth about traveling. Breadth I understand "breadth" to mean being able to see things from other points of views. In other words, we can see other perspectives and see why they might think that way. It will give you a wider range of ideas and probably make you less biased. An example of someone exhibiting breadth with social media would be; say you wanted to post a picture of you and your friends. Two of your friends don't look good in the picture but you look really good. By using breadth you realize that the shouldn't post ...

COLLABORATIVE CONNECTIONS

What conclusions are you coming to about collaboration and connection? In order to be in a community you need people who you have a connection with. Collaborating forms connections. In other words, when you collaborate and work with people you are able to find similarities with them, like maybe you both have the same work ethic or you both agree on the same solution. The conclusion I am coming to about collaboration and connection, is that collaboration forms a connection, and that forms a community. What other information do you need to consider to better understand collaborative connections? To better understand collaborative connections, we need to understand how these connections are made. In other words, you need to think about what the best way of working with a particular person is. You should have a general idea of the person, that way you can figure out the best way to collaborate. The better the collaboration the easier it will be to form a connection.  ...

INTELLECTUAL STANDARDS PART 1

Clarity I understand "clarity" to mean how well I understand something. In other words, I already know what's being discussed and I don't have to ask questions.  An example of someone exhibiting clarity with social media would be seeing a tutorial on youtube and knowing how to do it because the instructions were so clear.  Accuracy I understand "accuracy" to mean how close something is to the truth. In other words, something you wouldn't have to question because its correct, like facts.  An example of someone exhibiting accuracy with social media would be following reliable accounts that share factual information instead of biased ones.  Precision I understand "precision" to mean being accurate or exact.  In other words, giving a lot of information making sure accurate so someone can fully grasp the concept.  An example of someone exhibiting precision with social media would be making a tutorial and sharing exactly what you...

COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS

1. What is a community, what is a connection, and how are they related? Community is a group of people who come together, members tend to share particular characteristics in common. It's a place where people can communicate, connect, and get to know each other better over time. It gives people a sense of purpose and belonging. Connection means to have a relationship in which a person, thing, or idea is linked or associated with something else. Community and connection are related because you need to be able to connect with people in order to have a sense of community. In other words, if you don’t connect with people in your community you won’t really be apart of that community. Connection is essential to feel like you belong. If you don’t have connection you won’t have a community. An example would be Fandoms. I see so many fandoms on social media. A fandom is a community of people who all like a certain artist. Their love for that particular artist forms a connection that creates...

The Elements of Thoughts

PURPOSE I understand " purpose " to mean the reason why something is done. In other words, if you are working to reach a goal or trying to accomplish something you have a purpose. An example of someone exhibiting purpose using social media would be creating a GoFundMe page to help someone. There was a popular story going around last year about a homeless man who gave $20 to a couple stranded on a road in Philadelphia. The couple started a GoFundMe page to raise money for the homeless man and it got over $400,000. Now there's a lot of drama because apparently the couple isn't giving him the full amount but that's not the point, they had a purpose to raise money for this man and they used Social Media to accomplish it. QUESTION I understand " question " to mean asking something with the intention of getting information. In other words, asking clear and specific questions about something will get you information/answers on the topic An example ...

Social Media Concepts

1. Everything you see on Social Media is altered. We present ourselves in certain ways that aren't always true. An example of this would be posting a picture that you edited with photoshop or facetune. 2. Social Media can shape what we think. We don't tend to realize that some of the stuff we see is false or altered and we try to change to conform with it. We choose to only share certain things that we think people want to see, not what truly reflects us. 3. Social Media content can be interpreted in lots of different ways. Each person understands things differently depending on their own personal morals, experiences, mood, and cultural/religious backgrounds. Are we aware of how other might interpret our post? 4. Social Media influences the way the general population thinks. It alters the way people think and shows that a certain mindset/way of life is more right than others. The point of this assignment is to explain what Social Media is and what it's used for. In...
